Ever have such a wonderful surrealistic moment?
One that made you wonder if you were dreaming?
And in the centre of it all, somebody entirely unexpected?
So yesterday my aunty and I went on an outing to Melbourne's inner city, previous location of my lone wanderings. Had a peek through Crown casino and stroll through Southbank. The latter made me realise that while my first attempt to write a book was negligible, the idea of Southbank as a setting to bring my fictional characters together was - and still is - a wonderful idea.
And then we proceded to a certain bookshop.
And it was there I died and went to fangirl heaven.
Quite almost literally.
This shop, Minotaur. Well first of all, look at this design.
You kind of get a sense of the name's inspiration once you step inside. Lucky I had a considerable collection of funds.
It's not only a bookshop.
It's a fangirl's DREAM.
More specifically, one that offers show merchandise. The types of merchandise I've only seen avaliable online. Smallville, True Blood, Supernatural, Doctor Who. And that was only a little itty bitty corner that I managed to exploe fully compared to the rest of the place. The was a Pride and Prejudice and Zombies CALENDAR. And Beatles' MONOPOLY. Fake Tru Blood. There was an entire wall devoted to Doctor Who, but stacks and stacks of merchandise.
And POSTERS. Oh my Castiel, each section had corresponding, official POSTERS.
I'll show you what I ended up with.
This True Blood tee.
A Jared Padalecki POSTER. (Nicola, if you're reading this, I got you one too. SURPRISE!)
And a travel mug that was on sale at the convention that I didn't buy and regretted not buying ever since then.
I recommend, if you're a fan of ANYTHING, you go there and bring lots and lots of lots of money.
It's been an amazing week so far.
